Jewel of the Mountains, LLC
Welcome to our Alpaca adventure! We bought a home with 40 acres and were looking for something to do with it. Somehow I found Alpacas. I did alot of research on these wonderful animals and felt they were the best fit for us.
We are just starting out but I picked some very diverse bloodlines to use in our breeding program. I love all the different colors that alpacas come in and couldn't decide on just one, so we have them all. I did pick alpacas with some very well known names. My lines go back to 4Peruvian Legacy, Pperuvian Caligula, Peruvian Hemingway G171, NGG Lional, Peruvian Bueno, Peruvian Don Julio G, Pperuvian Victor.
We have three kids and these animals are very kid friendly. Alpacas have an easy going nature. Unlike horses when an alpaca kicks they do not break bones. Alpaca's are curious by nature and the children being smaller than they are facisnate them. In addition to being a very easy animal to care for their poop is a great fertilizer and their fiber is a sellable crop.
We are looking forward to showing them, so check back and see how we are doing!
Thanks,
Sherri
